Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace in a heated Premier League match on Saturday.

Following the victory, goalkeeper David de Gea posted a cryptic message on social media featuring a clip of his former manager, Jose Mourinho.

The 2-1 win at Old Trafford was marred by a fracas involving several players from both teams, which resulted in a straight red card for United's Casemiro and a yellow card for Palace's Jeffrey Schlupp.

De Gea appeared to take issue with the referee's decision by sharing a clip of a decade-old Mourinho interview, in which the Portuguese manager stated: "If I speak, I am in big trouble, and I don't want to be in big trouble."

At the time, Mourinho was manager of Chelsea and was trying to avoid further sanctions for being sent off during a match.

The United boss, Erik ten Hag, was also unhappy with the officiating, claiming that it was inconsistent and that several players from both teams had crossed the line.

Casemiro's red card will force Ten Hag to field a weakened midfield for the next three fixtures.
