Imane Khelif Reaches Gold Medal Match In Paris

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif has advanced to the gold medal bout in the women's welterweight division at the Paris Olympics.

She defeated Thailand's Janjaem Suwannapheng 5-0 in the semifinals, securing a chance for Algeria's first women's boxing gold medal.

Khelif's journey has been marked by controversy. She and fellow boxer Lin Yu-ting were disqualified from the world championships last year over alleged eligibility issues, leading to widespread criticism. Despite this, Khelif has focused on her performance, winning three consecutive bouts in Paris.

After her victory, Khelif expressed her pride and dedication, saying, "I've worked eight years for these Olympics, and I'm very proud of this moment." She will face China's Yang Liu in the final on Friday.
