LeBron James has added another achievement to his incredible career. The basketball star was named the MVP of the 2024 Paris Olympics after leading Team USA to victory. The USA defeated France 98-87 in a thrilling final game.

While Steph Curry stole the spotlight with his 24 points and eight three-pointers in the final, it was James’ steady performance throughout the tournament that earned him the MVP title.

James averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists over five games, making him one of the top players in the competition. He also became the first American to record two triple-doubles in Olympic history.

FIBA, the organization in charge of international basketball, praised the 39-year-old for his outstanding play. His second triple-double of the tournament came in the semifinal against Serbia, where he scored 16 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and handed out 10 assists in a comeback win.

James has been a force in basketball since joining the NBA straight out of high school in 2003. Over his 21-year career, he has been named an NBA All-Star 20 times, won four NBA championships, and now has three Olympic gold medals.

In addition to the MVP award, James was also named to the Olympic All-Star Five, alongside Victor Wembanyama of France, Nikola Jokic of Serbia, Dennis Schroder of Germany, and Steph Curry.
