One of the police officers involved in the incident with Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill is being investigated and has been placed on "administrative duties."

The Miami-Dade Police Department is looking into the actions of the officer, Danny Torres, a 27-year veteran of the department. Attorneys for Torres argue that this move was too quick and are asking for him to be put back on duty.

In a statement, lawyers Ignacio Alvarez and Israel Reyes said, "We call for our client’s immediate reinstatement and a full investigation." They also mentioned that Torres will not speak until the investigation is complete.

The incident happened outside Hard Rock Stadium before the Dolphins' game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Body camera footage shows officers pulling Hill from his car after he rolled up his window during a traffic stop.

Hill was handcuffed and complained of knee pain. He admitted to speeding but felt the situation was escalated unnecessarily.

Hill was later given tickets for careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt but was allowed to leave the scene. The police department says they are committed to a thorough investigation.
