Floyd Mayweather, one of the greatest boxers of all time, isn't done fighting. Even though he retired from professional boxing in 2017, he's been taking part in exhibition matches ever since. These fights have received criticism, with some calling them more like sparring sessions. Recently, Oscar De La Hoya called Mayweather's upcoming fight against John Gotti III "embarrassing."

But Mayweather, 47, responded to the criticism on Instagram, saying he’s happy with his choices and that these fights are helping him make a lot of money. "Retirement isn't about slowing down," Mayweather said. "I worked hard to live life on my terms. If I can still earn millions, why not?"

Mayweather explained that his exhibition fights give fans a chance to watch him in action. Since retiring, he’s fought eight exhibition matches, including one against YouTube star Logan Paul in 2021. In his last fight, Mayweather went eight rounds with former MMA fighter Gotti in Mexico City. Though no winner was declared, Mayweather showed off his boxing skills.

Mayweather had a message for those criticizing his post-retirement fights: "Too many people are watching my pockets while I'm busy creating wealth and legacy."

For Mayweather, these fights aren’t just about boxing—they're about living life his way and continuing his success.
