Kamala Harris Says She’d Shoot An Intruder, Supports Stricter Gun Laws

Vice President Kamala Harris made it clear that if someone broke into her home, they would be "getting shot." She said this during a livestream event with Oprah Winfrey in Michigan.

Harris laughed after the comment but added, “I probably shouldn’t have said that.” Harris, who owns a gun for personal safety, shared her views on gun control.

She supports banning assault weapons, saying they are designed for war and have no place in a peaceful society. During a recent debate, she pointed out that although she backs the Second Amendment, which gives Americans the right to own guns, she wants tougher gun laws.

While Harris has supported gun buyback programs in the past, where owners give up certain guns to the government, she no longer backs the idea. She did not explain why she changed her mind but emphasized that she still believes in banning assault weapons and wants to prevent school shootings.

Harris’s stance on guns has become a topic of discussion in the 2024 election, especially after her debate with Donald Trump. Both Harris and Trump are gun owners, but their views on gun control differ greatly. Harris has called for measures like universal background checks and red-flag laws, which allow courts to take guns away from people who might be a danger to themselves or others.
