Katy Perry's Career Struggles: Is Orlando Bloom To Blame?

Katy Perry's recent attempt to return to the top of the music charts has not gone as planned. According to insiders, her husband, actor Orlando Bloom, may have played a part in the setback.

Perry, 39, has faced criticism for her latest album 143, which was released on September 20. Fans and critics alike have been underwhelmed by both the album and her performances. A source told Life & Style magazine that Perry's decision to focus more on her sex appeal was encouraged by Bloom, but it hasn't worked out as hoped.

"Katy's fans expected more from her, and this album didn’t deliver," the source shared. "Orlando thought it was a good idea, but now Katy is dealing with negative reviews and a lack of excitement from her fans."

The album’s lead single, Woman’s World, failed to make a big impact, peaking at No. 63 on the Billboard charts. Perry, who once dominated the pop world with hits like Roar and Firework, is struggling to recreate that same success.

Some critics believe that Perry’s partnership with controversial producer Dr. Luke hurt her feminist message. Others say her music hasn’t evolved, especially compared to other artists like Taylor Swift, who is currently dominating the charts.

Insiders think Perry needs to focus on her strengths, especially her songwriting. "Katy's best songs, like Roar, connected with fans because of their message, not because of flashy videos or outfits," one industry expert said. "She needs to go back to what made her successful in the first place."

Some suggest Perry could benefit from a steady collaboration with a songwriter, similar to Billie Eilish’s work with her brother Finneas or Taylor Swift’s partnership with Jack Antonoff. "Katy has always worked with many different people, but maybe it's time to find one strong partner and stick with them."

Only time will tell if Perry can bounce back from this career hiccup, but one thing is clear: listening to her husband’s advice might not have been the best move.
