Khabib Nurmagomedov Says Jon Jones Can’t Be His Friend Due To Loyalty To Daniel Cormier

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently made it clear that he won’t be friends with Jon Jones because of his close friendship with Daniel Cormier

Cormier, a former UFC champion, had a long-standing rivalry with Jones, and Khabib says he can’t betray his friend by siding with Jones.

The rivalry between Jones and Cormier is one of the biggest in UFC history. They fought twice, with Jones winning both times, although one result was changed due to a failed drug test.

Despite Jones’ praise for Khabib, calling him a “stand-up guy,” Khabib explained on social media that his loyalty to Cormier prevents him from befriending Jones.


Both Khabib and Jones are considered among the greatest fighters of all time, but Khabib said, “If my friend is in conflict with him, he cannot be my friend.” The debate over who is the best continues, but for Khabib, friendship comes first. Source: Bloody Elbow
