Ja Morant Leads Memphis Grizzlies To 8th Consecutive Win With 38 Points In Return To Lineup
Ja Morant made a triumphant return to the lineup as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the San Antonio Spurs 135-129, extending their winning streak to eight games.
The Grizzlies led the majority of the game, but the Spurs closed the gap to 130-127 with 2:41 remaining.
However, a blocked shot and tip-in by Steven Adams gave the Grizzlies a 132-127 lead with 1:44 left.
A layup by Tre Jones made it 133-129 with 41 seconds remaining, and Morant sealed the win with a layup with 24 seconds to go.
Morant finished with 38 points in his return from a right thigh injury, while Desmond Bane scored 18 points and had 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Jaren Jackson Jr. and Steven Adams both recorded double-doubles for Memphis.
Keldon Johnson led the scoring for San Antonio with 24 points.
