Los Angeles Lakers player Anthony Davis put on a stunning performance in a game against his former team, the New Orleans Pelicans, finishing with 35 points, 17 rebounds, and one triple.

Despite leading the Lakers to a 123-108 win, the team received an unfortunate injury update on their superstar big man.

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham revealed that Davis will be ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets due to a foot injury related to his previous 20-game absence earlier in the season.

Ham emphasized that Davis has been playing pain-free from the injury, and the decision to sit him out is purely precautionary.

However, the coach also hinted that it will be the trend for Davis to sit out in back-to-back games for the rest of the season.

The Lakers have one more back-to-back set remaining on April 4th and 5th against the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers, respectively, and it's likely that Davis will sit out one of those games.

Despite the setback, the Lakers can take solace in the fact that Davis has been playing at a high level when he is on the court.

He has been an instrumental figure for the team in their push for the playoffs, and his dominant displays have been a key factor in their victories.

As such, it's crucial that the team manages his injury effectively to ensure that he is available for the crucial games ahead.

The Lakers have had a challenging season, with injuries and COVID-19 protocols disrupting their rhythm.

However, they remain in the playoff hunt and are determined to make a strong push in the remaining games.

With Davis leading the way, the team has a fighting chance to make it to the postseason and compete for the NBA championship.
