The Memphis Grizzlies have announced that star point guard Ja Morant will be out of the team for at least two games.

This decision comes after the NBA started an investigation into a social media post that appears to show Morant with a gun in a club.

The NBA is also conducting an investigation into the post.

Coach Taylor Jenkins has stated that there is no definitive timeline for Morant's return and that he will be out for at least two games.

Jenkins emphasized that Morant is taking responsibility for his actions and that the team is supporting him as he seeks help to be in a better place mentally.

Nike, which has a signature shoe deal with Morant, has also released a statement expressing support for the player's prioritization of his well-being.

This is the latest in a series of incidents involving Morant.

Earlier this week, he was accused of threatening the head of security at a Memphis mall last summer.

Four days later, he was accused of punching a 17-year-old boy and brandishing a gun during a pickup basketball game at his home.

In January, the NBA investigated an incident in which members of an Indiana Pacers traveling party claimed that someone in Morant's SUV shone a red laser at them, which they believed was a gun.

Despite the off-court issues, Morant has been performing well on the court, averaging 27.1 points, 8.2 assists, and six rebounds per game.

However, the Grizzlies are taking his behavior seriously and holding him accountable while also offering support for his mental health.
