The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, has announced on Twitter that Cody Rhodes will be making his first appearance on SmackDown since 2016.

Reigns is preparing for a potential showdown with The American Nightmare, which could build towards their WrestleMania 39 main event.

This comes after SmackDown announced Reigns' return to the blue brand following his victory over Sami Zayn at WWE Elimination Chamber.

Reigns aims to resolve ongoing issues with Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, The Usos, primarily Jey Uso.

WWE has also confirmed that Reigns and Rhodes will collide on the upcoming SmackDown episode.

In the official SmackDown preview, WWE notes that Reigns has tasked Jimmy Uso with handling the Jey Uso situation.

Still, after Jey failed to help his brother during Jimmy's altercation with Sami Zayn, The Bloodline seems to be more disjointed than ever.

Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes is happy to be returning to SmackDown and has not responded to Reigns or WWE as of this writing.

Fans can expect a thrilling episode of SmackDown as Reigns and Rhodes step onto the blue brand at the same time en route to their WrestleMania title showdown.

The Island of Relevancy may never be the same again, so don't miss all the action on SmackDown this Friday at 8/7 C on FOX.
