Odell Beckham Jr, a free agent wide receiver, is scheduled to visit the New York Jets on Monday, including a physical examination and discussions on his fit into the team's offense.

Beckham missed the last season due to a torn ACL he sustained in the Super Bowl two seasons ago.

During the NFL owners' meetings, he was seen conversing with officials from various teams, including Jets head coach Robert Salah and general manager Joe Douglas.

The Jets have already signed former Green Bay Packers WR Allen Lazard and former Kanas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman, along with Offensive Rookie of the Year Garret Wilson and veteran Corey Davis.

Beckham's visit might signal that the long-anticipated trade sending Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay to New York is nearly finalised.

The Jets were reportedly one of several teams on a wishlist of players Rodgers wanted the Packers to pursue in free agency.

Douglas caused a stir among Jets fans when he publicly stated that Rodgers "is gonna be here" during a WFAN Sports fan event.

In March, Rodgers expressed his desire to play for the Jets on The Pat McAfee Show, following rumours of his trade.

Beckham is known for his excellent performance during his time with the New York Giants, where he recorded at least 75 receptions, 10 touchdowns, and 1,300 yards in each of his three seasons.

After suffering an injury in 2017, he recorded two more 1,000-yard seasons before a sour relationship with former Browns' QB Baker Mayfield sent his tenure in Cleveland downhill.

Beckham held a workout earlier this offseason, attended by at least 12 NFL teams, and flirted with several teams towards the end of the last season and during the playoffs.

However, he chose to focus on rehabilitating his injury instead.
