Gervonta Davis, the WBA "regular" lightweight champion, recently won against Ryan Garcia in a Showtime Pay-Per-View fight, and he credits his former promoter and five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr., for providing him with key advice.

Davis had been promoted by Mayweather's company, Mayweather Promotions, for most of his career until his contract expired last year.

He then started his own promotional company, GTD Promotions, and had Leonard Ellerbe as his adviser for the Garcia fight.

However, Mayweather was also present at the event and offered Davis words of encouragement throughout the fight.

Davis dropped Garcia in the second round and finished him off with a heavy body shot in the seventh round.

After the fight, Davis praised Mayweather for his guidance and support during big events, saying that he always tries to stay close to him during these situations to keep himself humble and on the right path.

Mayweather has participated in the three largest pay-per-view fights in history against Manny Pacquiao, Conor McGregor, and Oscar De La Hoya before retiring in 2017.

Davis's victory over Garcia is another feather in his cap and shows the world that he is one of the most promising fighters in the boxing world.

Mayweather's presence at the event and his support for Davis demonstrate that he still plays an important role in the young boxer's life.

Mayweather's success in boxing and his advice to Davis on how to handle high-pressure situations have undoubtedly contributed to Davis's success in the ring.

Davis's decision to start his own promotional company shows that he is committed to his own career and is willing to take risks to achieve his goals.

All in all, Davis's victory and his close relationship with Mayweather bode well for his future as a top-tier boxer.
