Harden Ejected And Embiid Receives Flagrant Foul In Intense Playoff Matchup Between Sixers And Nets

During the third game of the playoffs between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets, James Harden was ejected for hitting a Brooklyn player in the groin area.

This incident occurred after Joel Embiid had escaped an ejection for kicking another player near the same spot.

Despite these challenges, Philadelphia managed to survive the intense matchup in Brooklyn.

Photo: Instagram/James Harden's ejection from the game and Joel Embiid receiving a flagrant foul demonstrate that the rules of the game are being upheld, and that no player is above those rules.

Harden's ejection occurred when he was closely defended by Royce O'Neale while dribbling. He swung out his arm and hit O'Neale, causing him to fall to the court in pain.

Following a review by the referees, Harden was called for a flagrant foul 2, which resulted in his automatic ejection.

Earlier in the game, Embiid was given only a flagrant 1 for kicking his leg up towards Nets center Nic Claxton's groin. This occurred after Claxton had just dunked and Embiid fell to the court after fouling him.

As Claxton slowly stepped over Embiid, he kicked up his leg, prompting players from both teams to rush in. After reviewing the footage, the referees gave Embiid a flagrant foul 1, which did not result in an ejection.

However, Nets fans were displeased with this decision and booed in response. They were reminded of Golden State's Draymond Green, who was ejected from Game 2 and suspended for Game 3 of the Warriors' series against Sacramento after stepping on Kings center Domantas Sabonis.

Finally, Claxton was given a technical foul for stepping over Embiid.

Despite the intense and physical nature of the game, Philadelphia managed to come out on top, thanks to the contributions of both Harden and Embiid before their respective ejection and foul.
