After losing his team's series against the Lakers in the NBA playoffs, Dillon Brooks has spoken out about his taunting of LeBron James.

Despite the Grizzlies' defeat, Brooks has doubled down on his insults and claimed he does not regret targeting James.

In Game 2 of the series, Brooks called James 'old' and claimed he did not respect him. He was then ejected from Game 3 after hitting James in the groin.

Following their first-round victory, James took to social media to celebrate.

Brooks, who was fined $25,000 for refusing to speak to the media after all of his team's road losses to the Lakers, has now finally responded. 'No, that's who I am,' he was quoted as saying by Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Although the Lakers have struggled this season, they won the series against the Grizzlies in six games, and James scored 22 points in their 123-85 victory in Game 6.

Despite the loss, Brooks does not appear to be backing down, while James is gearing up for the next round of the playoffs against the Golden State Warriors.

Brooks' future with the Grizzlies is uncertain, as he appears to be headed for free agency in the upcoming offseason.

Grizzlies GM Zach Kleiman did not reference Brooks directly, but admitted he believes 'self-created distractions' did not help the team.

He added that they will take a different approach to trash talk next season, but also emphasized the importance of confidence.

While Brooks licks his wounds and considers his future, James is looking forward to the next round of the playoffs.

The first game of the Western Conference semifinals series against the Golden State Warriors will take place on Tuesday night at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
