The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed in a new autopsy report that former WWE star Sara Lee died by suicide.

The report reveals that Lee, who won the sixth season of WWE's reality show competition Tough Enough in August 2015, consumed a lethal combination of alcohol and pills.

There were letters of intent found at the scene, indicating that Lee had intended to take her own life. The 30-year-old was married to fellow wrestler Cory Weston and they had three children together.

Lee's death in October 2022 was met with an outpouring of emotion from the wrestling world. WWE released a statement saying that as a former Tough Enough winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many and offered heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and fans.

Weston posted an emotional note on Instagram, describing Lee as a motivator, best friend, sister, daughter, aunt, and backbone of their family.

At the time of her death, Lee had bruises and abrasions on her body and head, which officials suspected could have resulted from multiple falls while intoxicated.

Born in Michigan, Lee was a competitive powerlifter in high school and went on to study medical sonography at Delta College. After winning Tough Enough, she signed a $250,000 contract with WWE for a year.

Lee left WWE in 2016 and trained with Team Vision Dojo in Orlando, Florida. She married Weston in December 2017, and they had a daughter, Piper, and two sons, Brady and a baby boy born in August 2021.

In light of Lee's tragic death, resources are available for those who are struggling with mental health issues.

In the UK and Ireland, Samaritans can be contacted on 116 123 or via email, and in the US, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline can be reached via call, text, or online.
