A Louisiana teenager named Cameron Robbins is currently missing after going overboard during a sunset cruise in the Bahamas, as confirmed by school officials.

Robbins, a recent high school graduate from University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, was part of a student group on the trip when the incident occurred on Wednesday night. The director of the school, Kevin George, stated that Robbins has not been located as of the latest update.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force reported that the incident took place around 9:40 p.m. local time near Athol Island, revealing that the 18-year-old had reportedly jumped from a pleasure vessel. Assistance in the search effort for Robbins is being provided by the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast, who confirmed their involvement and role in the ongoing search and rescue mission.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is leading the operation, with the Coast Guard providing air support. Although the Bahamas vacation was not an official school trip, it included students from various high schools in the region, including approximately 10 to 15 students from the Laboratory School.

Describing Robbins as a remarkable individual and athlete who had been a part of the school for 13 years, George expressed his pride in seeing Robbins graduate and cross the stage during the recent graduation ceremony.

Following the news of his reported disappearance, students at the Laboratory School gathered in a prayer circle, showing their support and unity during this challenging time.

George emphasized the tight-knit nature of the school community and expressed gratitude for the students' leadership in organizing the prayer circle.

Robbins has a sister who is currently a junior at the school, and George stated that he had spoken to their father, acknowledging the emotional impact this situation has had on everyone involved.

He requested that everyone continue to keep Robbins in their thoughts and prayers, hoping for his safe return.
