Mavericks' Luka Doncic Responds Hilariously To LeBron James Rumors On Instagram

Luka Doncic, the star player of the Dallas Mavericks, responded in a lighthearted manner to the swirling rumors about LeBron James potentially joining the team.

In his first Instagram post following the rumors, Doncic shared something completely unrelated, as noted by Nick Angstadt of Locked on Mavs.

Although the timing of his post was not lost on Doncic, it is evident that he was not directly addressing the LeBron James speculation.

The humorous aspect lies in the fact that Doncic was simply using his phone, indicating that he had likely come across the rumors and was aware of the attention surrounding his social media activity.

Despite the unrelated Instagram post, the rumors of a potential LeBron James-Dallas Mavericks deal have now become a fixture in NBA media discussions. While it has long been speculated that Kyrie Irving desires to play alongside James, most predictions had linked them reuniting in Los Angeles.

However, if a reunion were to happen in Dallas, it would create one of the most fascinating "big threes" in NBA history. The feasibility of the Mavericks acquiring LeBron James while retaining Kyrie Irving and securing a future contract for Luka Doncic seems daunting due to salary cap constraints.

Nevertheless, if the team were somehow able to overcome these obstacles, it would undoubtedly be an exceptional offseason achievement.

Currently, it appears likely that James will continue with the Los Angeles Lakers for the next season, assuming he decides against retirement.

Nonetheless, the possibility of him joining the Mavericks provides an entertaining topic for speculation, which will persist until further updates emerge.
