In a devastating turn of events during Aaron Rodgers' highly anticipated debut with the New York Jets on Monday, the star quarterback's tenure with the team took a sudden and unfortunate detour, lasting less than five minutes.

Before completing a single pass, Rodgers found himself sidelined due to injury, a cruel twist of fate for the Jets faithful. The unfortunate incident unfolded in the first quarter when Leonard Floyd sacked Rodgers.

The hit, at first glance, appeared relatively innocuous, but it was enough to signal trouble. Rodgers, visibly hurt, motioned to the sideline and took a seat on the MetLife Stadium turf, an ominous sign of an impending setback.

With assistance from the training staff, he was guided to the medical tent, and the Jets reported that Rodgers had sustained an ankle injury, casting doubt on his return. As the game progressed into the second quarter, Rodgers was officially ruled out, though X-rays provided some relief by returning negative results.

Rodgers' debut had been limited to just one incomplete pass, a throwaway attempt under pressure, before his abrupt exit, leaving Jets fans in shock. Rookie quarterback Zach Wilson was thrust into action, but the drive following Rodgers' departure ended in a punt.

Shortly thereafter, a cart made its way to the Jets' medical tent, and Rodgers was gingerly carted off to the locker room, his left leg clearly bothering him. Jets head coach Robert Saleh remained optimistic despite the devastating blow, emphasizing the team's resilience and potential to excel even without Rodgers.
The acquisition of Rodgers through a significant offseason trade had raised hopes for the franchise, as the four-time MVP aimed to lead the Jets out of their decade-long playoff drought, an exciting prospect that had been magnified by their appearance on HBO's "Hard Knocks."

Rodgers had expressed his enthusiasm for his new teammates, even discussing the possibility of a Super Bowl run in an ESPN interview with tennis legend John McEnroe. However, the dream of a Rodgers-led resurgence was put on hold as the clock ticked past the five-minute mark of his Jets tenure, leaving fans and the organization to anxiously await updates on his recovery and the future of their season.
