In a recent interview, Anthony Davis shared insightful advice for rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama, emphasizing the importance of not succumbing to the immense pressure that comes with being a top pick in the NBA.

Davis, drawing on his own experiences, highlighted that even basketball legends like LeBron James faced challenges in their inaugural seasons.

During a post-game discussion, Davis playfully questioned LeBron James about his rookie year playoff performance, with James humorously admitting, "Sat on my couch."
The underlying message was clear—building a franchise takes time, and Wembanyama shouldn't feel the need to single-handedly transform the team in his first year.

Despite Wembanyama's recent struggles and the Spurs' 17-game losing streak, Davis remains optimistic about the young player's potential. Acknowledging the external pressures, Davis advised Wembanyama to focus on his game, lean on the expertise of his coach, and understand the team's expectations.

As the Lakers faced challenges themselves, Davis spoke about the intense scrutiny that comes with being the face of a franchise. "Don't stress yourself out over the pressure from everyone else," Davis asserted. "You've got to know what your team wants from you."

Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick, has shown defensive prowess despite the team's setbacks. Davis' words of wisdom serve as a valuable guide for the young talent, reminding him that success takes time and the support of those around him.
