In a surprising turn of events, Braves insider Mark Bowman suggests that the Atlanta Braves might not be in the running for two-way sensation Shohei Ohtani and pitcher Dylan Cease from the Chicago White Sox.

This revelation could significantly impact the Dodgers' chances of securing both players. Earlier speculations had Dodgers fans on edge when it was believed that the Braves were a serious contender for Ohtani.

However, Bowman's statement throws uncertainty into the mix, potentially relieving LA supporters. While the Dodgers remain favorites to acquire Ohtani, competition is fierce.

Teams like the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and the incumbent Los Angeles Angels are making compelling cases for the sought-after superstar.

Regarding Cease, initial reports pointed to the Braves as leading candidates for a trade. With those rumors now dispelled, the Dodgers may regain their standing in the pursuit of much-needed starting pitching help this offseason.

Cease, with two years of control, presents an attractive option for the Dodgers, though the White Sox's asking price remains high. As the Dodgers actively explore various options this winter, the front office is committed to making a significant impact.

The question remains: who will be the key addition to bolster LA's roster for the upcoming seasons? The anticipation continues as the offseason unfolds.
