In a spectacular performance, Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a resounding 147-97 victory against the Utah Jazz, making history with a 40-point triple-double.

The Mavs dominated from the start, ending a two-game losing streak and improving to 12-8 for the season. Doncic's early offensive onslaught, combined with Kyrie Irving's contribution, set the tone for the game, propelling Dallas to a 74-51 lead at halftime.

Notably, Doncic's 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in the first half marked a historic achievement as the first player in NBA history to achieve a 25-point triple-double before halftime. This remarkable feat also propelled him to surpass Larry Bird for ninth all-time in career triple-doubles with 60.

As the game progressed, Doncic continued to shine, reaching a 40-point triple-double late in the third quarter. This performance tied him with Wilt Chamberlain for the fourth most in NBA history, surpassing LeBron James.

The Mavs, holding a commanding 109-74 lead after three quarters, demonstrated their offensive prowess with efficient shooting, including 22 made 3-pointers. The victory showcased a strong outing from Irving, who contributed 26 points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Coach Jason Kidd praised Doncic's exceptional conditioning and commitment to winning, emphasizing the team's overall offensive display with double-figure scoring from multiple players.

Despite a brief heated moment in the third quarter resulting in a double technical, the Mavs secured the win, allowing Doncic and Irving to rest in the fourth quarter. The victory marked the first game with both superstars in the lineup since November 28, underscoring the team's potential when at full strength.

Looking ahead, the Mavericks are set to face the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center on Friday, aiming to build on their momentum and continue their winning ways.
