In a thrilling clash between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, Rudy Gobert not only contributed significantly to his team's performance but also etched his name in NBA history.

Despite the Timberwolves securing a 118-110 win, it was Gobert's defensive prowess that stole the spotlight.

The 31-year-old center finished the night with an impressive stat line of 20 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and three blocks, maintaining a perfect 7/7 shooting record.

However, it was his climb up the all-time blocks list that made headlines.

Gobert surpassed Caldwell Jones, claiming the 39th spot with a total of 1,518 career blocks.

Gobert, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year awardee, continues to solidify his legacy as one of the greatest defenders in NBA history.

His remarkable performance contributed to the Timberwolves' dominant 23-7 record in the first 30 games, securing their position as the Western Conference's top seed.

Looking ahead, the Timberwolves, with their stellar 13-1 home record, are set to face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.

Gobert, now in his 11th NBA season and second with the Timberwolves, maintains career averages of 12.5 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game, showcasing his consistent impact on the court. (Source: Sports Illustrated)
