Nikola Jokic Makes NBA History In Nuggets-Celtics Clash

Nikola Jokic etched his name in NBA history in a Friday night showdown against the Boston Celtics.

The Denver Nuggets' star finished the game with nine assists, catapulting himself to 98th on the all-time assists list, tying with Spud Webb at 4,342.

During the intense matchup in Massachusetts, Jokic surpassed Jay Humphries (4,339) for the 99th spot on the all-time assists list. The next milestone on his journey is to eclipse Spud Webb.

Known for his exceptional passing skills, Jokic entered the game with impressive season averages: 25.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, 9.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. 

Shooting at an impressive 58.1% from the field and 34.5% from beyond the arc in 41 games, he showcased his prowess on both ends of the court.


The Nuggets, holding the third seed in the Western Conference with a 28-14 record, displayed resilience despite their recent loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. 

Jokic's stellar performance against the Celtics included 25 points, 19 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 38 minutes of play.


As they look ahead, the Nuggets will take on the Washington Wizards on Sunday in Washington, D.C., led by Jordan Poole.

In his ninth season with the Nuggets, Jokic, a future Hall of Famer, played a pivotal role in securing the 2023 NBA Championship.
