In a heartfelt homage, the Lakers, led by Kobe's design legacy, will showcase the distinctive Black Mamba uniforms during their game against the Denver Nuggets.

The statue unveiling ceremony, set to commence at 3 p.m. PT, will be broadcasted live on Spectrum SportsNet, capturing the essence of Bryant's remarkable 20-year career with the purple and gold.

Bryant, an NBA legend with 18 All-Star appearances and five championships, will join the elite ranks of Lakers icons immortalized with a statue, including Elgin Baylor, Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Jerry West, and Chick Hearn.

The Black Mamba uniforms, originally introduced during the 2017-18 season, boast a snakeskin-like black print, paying homage to Bryant's rookie season in 1996-97.

The jerseys feature unique details such as drop shadows on the numbers, an "LA 24" on the belt, and the inclusion of Nos. 8 and 24 under the flap of each leg of the shorts.

Fans eager to witness this momentous occasion are encouraged to tune in to Spectrum SportsNet for live coverage. However, public access to Star Plaza on Feb. 8 will be restricted due to event preparations, with pedestrian access reopening on Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. for those wishing to view the statue.

The significance of the Black Mamba uniforms extends beyond aesthetic appeal, as they played a pivotal role in the Lakers' journey to their 17th NBA Championship during the 2020 playoffs. This tribute stands as a testament to Kobe Bryant's enduring impact on the Lakers franchise and the basketball world at large. (SOURCE: NBA)
