In a tense Thursday night matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat, star point guard Jamal Murray exited the game and headed to the locker room.

Chris Haynes of The NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report confirmed Murray's absence for the remainder of the game due to a right ankle sprain.

Murray, with six points, one rebound, and three assists in 14 minutes, left the Nuggets in suspense as they declared the 2023 NBA Champion questionable for a return.

The Nuggets, currently the third seed in the Western Conference with a 40-19 record, face uncertainty in Murray's absence as they aim to extend their four-game winning streak.

This setback comes after Murray's stellar performance against the Sacramento Kings, contributing 32 points, three rebounds, and six assists in a commanding victory.

The Nuggets, on a hot streak, now face a challenging road ahead, including a Saturday showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Heat, holding the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference at 33-25, continue their own winning streak.

With an 8-2 record over the last ten games, they pose a formidable challenge for the Nuggets in this pivotal clash.

Stay tuned for further updates on Jamal Murray's injury status and its impact on the Nuggets' playoff push. (Source: Sports Illustrated)
