In a thrilling showdown between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, Zion Williamson stole the spotlight with a jaw-dropping buzzer-beater layup that set social media on fire.

The Pelicans secured a hard-fought victory over the Clippers with a final score of 112-104 in Louisiana. 

Leading the charge was two-time NBA All-Star Zion Williamson, who put on a stellar performance with 34 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block.

Williamson's remarkable play included a lightning-fast layup just before the third-quarter buzzer, leaving fans in awe.

Williamson's heroics added to his impressive season stats, boasting averages of 22.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, while maintaining shooting percentages of 58.0% from the field and 35.7% from beyond the arc in 55 games.

 


With this crucial win, the Pelicans improved their record to 40-26, securing the fifth seed in the Western Conference standings. 

They've demonstrated dominance at home, boasting a 19-13 record in games played on their home court.

 


Next up, the Pelicans are set to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday evening in New Orleans, while the Clippers, now standing at 42-24, will host the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday evening, aiming to bounce back from their defeat against the Pelicans.
