Devin Booker's Historic Dominance Over Pelicans Matches Wilt Chamberlain In The Record Books

Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns has etched his name into NBA history alongside legends like Wilt Chamberlain.

Booker's unprecedented feat of scoring 50 or more points against the New Orleans Pelicans for three consecutive games has sent shockwaves throughout the basketball world.

During Monday night's game, Booker unleashed a 52-point explosion against the Pelicans, mirroring his earlier 52-point performance against them on January 19.

This extraordinary achievement is further amplified by the fact that prior to January 19, Booker hadn't faced the Pelicans since December 17, 2022, when he scored a staggering 58 points.

Booker's unparalleled dominance over the Pelicans has now matched a record previously held solely by Wilt Chamberlain. Not even basketball icons like Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan have achieved such a feat against a single opponent.

Pelicans coach Willie Green expressed frustration, admitting his team's struggles in containing Booker, stating, "Quite frankly, we were soft guarding him."

Adding to the astonishment is the caliber of the Pelicans' defense, ranked fourth in the NBA. Despite their formidable defensive lineup, Booker has emerged as the Pelican slayer, propelling the Suns closer to securing a higher seed in the Western Conference standings.

With this historic achievement, Booker has not only solidified his place among the NBA's elite but has also propelled the Suns to a pivotal position in the playoff race. As they prepare to face the Pelicans once again on April 7, Booker's remarkable performance leaves little doubt that the Suns are poised for continued success.
