Dana White Predicts Jon Jones Would Have Dominated Francis Ngannou Like Ciryl Gane at UFC 285

Despite the clamouring of the MMA community for a Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou fight, UFC President Dana White does not see it happening.

In fact, White is confident that the fight would not be competitive in any way.

After Jones returned to the octagon at UFC 285, submitting Ciryl Gane in just over two minutes, White once again shut down the notion of a Ngannou and Jones fight.

White is confident that if the fight did happen, it would look similar to the UFC 285 bout.

In a recent interview with TMZ, White revealed that he had tried to make the fight happen for two years, but Ngannou did not want to fight.

He also stated that if Ngannou was in the octagon instead of Gane, the fight would have gone the same way.

White believes that Ngannou's five-round war with Gane would have ended in a loss for Ngannou, had Gane not gone for the submission at the end of the fifth round.

Currently, the path seems to lead towards a fight between Jones and another former heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic.

Talks suggest that the fight will happen in July at UFC 290, but White thinks that could be too soon.

Although, he's not ruling out that timeframe entirely.

Jones wants the fight with Miocic for his legacy, but with the heavyweight division being in the place that it is, White wouldn't be surprised if Jones retired after fighting Miocic, despite being in the beginning stages of a new eight-fight deal.
