Grizzlies' Ja Morant Takes Responsibility For Flashing Gun In IG Live, Enters Counseling Program And Receives 8-Game Suspension From NBA
Ja Morant, a guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, expressed regret for his recent actions during an interview with ESPN's Jalen Rose.
Morant has been absent from the team since March 4th when he was seen holding a gun on an Instagram Live video.
The NBA launched an investigation into the video and the player was the subject of a police investigation as well, but no criminal charges were filed.

Morant has missed five games so far and has entered a counseling program in Florida, with no timeline set for his return to the NBA.
During the interview, Morant claimed that the gun was not his and that he did not condone any form of violence.
He acknowledged that he had made a mistake and was taking full responsibility for his actions.
Morant also talked about his efforts to improve his mental health, including working with therapists, doing Reiki treatment, and practicing anxiety breathing.
Despite the NBA's investigation, Morant was not found to have brought the gun into the nightclub, owned it, or displayed it beyond a brief period.
However, the league announced an eight-game suspension for him for "conduct detrimental to the league."
Prior to this incident, Morant had been investigated by the NBA after allegations that his associates had "aggressively confronted" people traveling with the Indiana Pacers.
Morant is eligible to return to the Grizzlies on Monday, but the team's head coach has said that he is not expected to suit up for the game against the Dallas Mavericks.
The Grizzlies have been successful this season, but their recent record without Morant has not been as impressive.
The player has acknowledged that he needs to make better decisions in the future to avoid negative consequences for himself and his team.
