A heated exchange took place between current UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, and former title holder, Francis Ngannou, during the PFL event in Atlanta.

Just a month ago, it was announced that Ngannou had found a new home in the Professional Fighters League after parting ways with the UFC earlier this year due to contract disputes.

The PFL managed to entice Ngannou with enticing offers, including equity and leadership roles within the organization, such as a seat on the athlete advisory board and the position of chairman of PFL Africa.

Additionally, Ngannou was given the freedom to pursue his own boxing matches. Jones had previously been linked to a potential fight against Ngannou and had expressed his disappointment with Ngannou's decision to sign with the PFL on Twitter.

However, Jones recently competed against Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285, securing a first-round submission victory.

Both Jones and Ngannou attended the PFL event in Atlanta, with Ngannou present for promotional purposes and Jones serving as a cornerman for his friend and teammate, Maurice Greene.

Although it wasn't guaranteed that the paths of these two heavyweight stars would cross, fans got their wish when they came face to face and exchanged words.

In a video capturing the moment, Jones can be heard telling Ngannou, "You know you don't want no smoke," implying that Ngannou was not up for the challenge.

However, 'The Predator' responded by suggesting that it was actually Jones who was avoiding the confrontation. The possibility of a Jones vs. Ngannou fight in the future remains uncertain, but this intense encounter certainly left fans intrigued and eager for more.
