According to the report, Dillon Brooks and the Houston Rockets have agreed to a 4-year, $80 million deal.

Brooks, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2022-23 season, averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game. The agreement between Brooks and the Rockets is expected to be a sign-and-trade deal.

Dillon Brooks was initially drafted by the Rockets for the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round (15th pick) of the 2017 NBA Draft. He had recently completed a three-year, $35 million contract extension with the Grizzlies.

Throughout his five seasons in Memphis, the 6-foot-7 swingman has averaged 14.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 41.6% from the field and 34.2% from beyond the arc.

Brooks gained a reputation for embracing a villain role with the Grizzlies, often engaging in verbal exchanges with notable opponents such as LeBron James, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. He is known for his defensive prowess and has not shied away from challenging defensive assignments.

Following the Grizzlies' first-round playoff exit, reports surfaced suggesting that Brooks would likely be parting ways with Memphis in the offseason.

Now, with the move to the Houston Rockets, Brooks is expected to bring a veteran presence to a young roster that includes promising talents like Amen Thompson (the 4th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft), Cam Whitmore, Jabari Smith, Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Alperen Sengun.
