Kylian Mbappé has reportedly turned down a meeting with Al Hilal officials in Paris regarding a potential record-breaking transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Paris Saint-Germain, the club to which Mbappé belongs, had granted Al Hilal permission to engage in discussions with the French striker after receiving a written bid of £259 million for his services.

However, Mbappé and his representatives have firmly declined the invitation to engage in talks with the Saudi Pro League side, indicating that he has never seriously considered the possibility of making such a move.

The uncertainty surrounding Mbappé's future at PSG arose when he informed the club in June that he would not be extending his current contract beyond 2025, effectively making him a free agent next summer. As early as January, he would be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with any other club.

While PSG has not officially confirmed Mbappé's rejection of Al Hilal's approach, they appear to be convinced that the talented player has already committed to joining Real Madrid on a free transfer in the subsequent summer.

According to sources in Paris, should Mbappé follow through with the plan to run down his existing contract with PSG and move to Real Madrid in 2024, he stands to receive a substantial signing-on fee amounting to €160 million (£138 million).

This lucrative incentive could be a contributing factor in his decision-making process. As the situation unfolds, speculation continues to surround Mbappé's future, with the football world eagerly awaiting news of his final decision.

The rejection of Al Hilal's proposal appears to underscore his focus on exploring alternative opportunities, most notably the potential move to Real Madrid as a highly sought-after free agent.
