According to Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes, there is still a possibility that New Orleans Pelicans' superstar Zion Williamson could be traded if the right situation arises and a compelling package is offered.

Although it was never explicitly stated that he was actively on the market, Haynes hinted that Williamson could potentially be available. Prior to the NBA draft, trade rumors surrounding Williamson circulated, but they were eventually dismissed.

The Pelicans were reportedly interested in trading up in the draft order to secure a top-three selection and acquire point guard Scoot Henderson as their future playmaker. Williamson's name was mentioned as a potential trade asset before the rumors were quashed.

Since being selected as the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Williamson has been the cornerstone of the Pelicans franchise and a two-time All-Star. However, his persistent injury struggles have been a major concern throughout his career.

He has only played more than 29 games in a season once and missed the entire 2021-2022 campaign due to injury. Nevertheless, during the 2020-2021 season, Williamson showcased his incredible skills when he participated in 61 games, averaging a career-high 27 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on an impressive 61.1 percent shooting from the field.

Unfortunately, he played in only 29 games last season due to a hamstring injury. Considering the challenges posed by Williamson's injury history, the Pelicans might entertain the idea of capitalizing on his star power if the right offer comes along.

It remains to be seen whether the team will actively pursue a trade involving their franchise player, but the door has not been completely closed on the possibility.
